Race 5: No.3 MILTON ROAD ($2.15 with Palmerbet)
The Matt Dunn-trained MILTON ROAD is in good touch this time in and fourth-up today will be at his peak and should prove hard to beat here. Last start, the Darci Brahma gelding finally broke through for his maiden win when he clobbered his rivals in the 1200m contest at Murwillumbah. With Brodie Loy in the saddle, he led from barrier to box, putting 2.5 lengths on the 10-strong field at the finish. He has improved with each start this preparation and looks well placed here to go on with it today.

Race 7: No.10 ZATTASTAR ($7.90 with BoomBet)
Jace Bruce brings ZATTASTAR back over the border today and the Gold Coast-based galloper looks in the mix for another Lismore win at odds. Last start, the Zoustar mare came off an Ipswich victory when she lined-up here in a BM58 and on a Heavy 8 that day, finished just behind the placegetters, beaten 1.5 lengths in that contest. Corey Bayliss is back in the saddle today after steering the mare to three podium finishes from his five rides on her to date. She has proven to be ever-consistent this time in, with two wins and two minor placings in her five starts back, and is already a winner here. She maps to settle mid-field today and with a trouble-free run, she can give this a real shake at each-way odds.

Race 6: No.2 PEPERONCINO ($8 with BlueBet)
Gold Coast visitor, PEPERONCINO was impressive on debut and looks in the mix here for back-to-back wins today. Last start, the Deep Field gelding faced his fist race and did well to score over 1100m on the synthetic track at the Gold Coast. He crossed from the outside gate and sat outside the leader to the turn, then took over and held them out to score a narrow win (as a $12 chance that day). (Currently), you can still get better than half those odds again here as Jai Williams sticks with him and ideally drawn in gate three, he looks a sound investment in this contest.
