Another from the Wehlow stable is COURTESY BUS who is at the top of his game this preparation and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding made it two wins from his past three starts when he held on gamely to win a BM70 Hcp over 1200m at Townsville. Carrying 60kgs, Ryan Wiggins steered the ship in that event as the six-year-old registered his seventh career-win that day. He takes on Open company here and drops in weight, seeing Townsville jockey, Scotty Sheargold, take the reins today (with Wiggins unable to make the weight). Ideally drawn in gate three, he maps to settle on or near the speed here and already a track and distance winner, he looks the testing material.

Race 4:  No.5  SOARING SPIRIT  ($2.60 with Picklebet)

The Jared Wehlow-trained SOARING SPIRIT is now three starts into this campaign and should be ready to put her best foot forward today. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom mare showed plenty of improvement when she finished fourth (of 11) in a Three-Year-Old Hcp, here over 1300m. Despite blowing like a gale in the market ($6 to $9.50), she wasn’t disgraced, beaten just two lengths on the day. Wehlow has kept her out for the past seven weeks to freshen her up for this assignment and welcomes back Ryan Wiggins who steered the mare to her maiden victory at Townsville last preparation. She draws the middle of the field here and maps to cross and settle near the speed. At her peak today, she will take beating.

Race 6:  No.5  CLASS OF ROYALTY  ($2.50 with bet365)

Rockhampton galloper CLASS OF ROYALTY has been in good touch this preparation and looks a serious contender for first prize in this contest. Last start, the Top Echelon gelding gave his rivals a galloping lesson when he put almost two lengths on them in a BM60 Hcp, here over 1560m. Ryan Wiggins had his first ride on the gelding that day and rode him to perfection that day. Wiggins sticks with him today and stepping up in grade here, drops 3kgs for this event. From gate six, he maps to settle just off the pace and after four starts back, he should be at his peak today and will take beating.
