Local trainer, John Manzelmann, has MISHANI MAVERICK engaged here today who has found his mojo lately and looks well placed here to go on with it. Two starts back, the Performer gelding won a Three-Year-Old Hcp, here over 1200m before beating all but one home against similar company at Townsville last start. The three-year-old welcomes his fifth rider in as many starts today as Tahlia Fenlon takes the pilot’s cap for this assignment. He maps to settle near the speed today and in great touch of late, he looks a serious player in this contest.

Race 5:  No.4  LUVIN’ OUR GRACE  ($3.50 with Ladbrokes)

Rockhampton trainer, Ricky Vale, saddles-up LUVIN’ OUR GRACE here who is in career-best form and looks set to go on with it in this contest. Last start, the Star Witness mare made it two wins from her past three starts when she took out a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m on her home track with Ryan Wiggins aboard. She has a little more to carry in this easier event today as Wiggins sticks with her for this assignment. Well-seasoned now, she has found her best form and looks the testing material here.

Race 3:  No.4  APRIL LOVE  ($4.15 with BoomBet)

Rockhampton galloper, APRIL LOVE, has had experience here previously and now three-starts into this preparation, she looks ready to strike. Last start, the Spill The Beans mare was third-up and not that far away when finishing third in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1300m. With Jackson Murphy aboard (for the sixth time), she tried to lead all the way but was nabbed just short of the line, beaten less than a length in that event. Stepping up in distance today, Murphy sticks with her and may ride her a little more conservatively here in order to save some fuel for the run home. With a trouble-free run today, she looks in the mix for a win.
