Race 6 No. 2 MARBLE NINE- ($2.25) 

Market in the lead up might be a better guide with this guy appearing for the first time since his debut last November but if MARBLE NINE is ready to go he should be hard to beat. The three-year-old stepped out at Mornington at his first start last year and led all the way to defeat Our Cracklin’ Rosie. He was challenged in the straight but found plenty in the run home to run solid time and the form out of that held up with the runner-up going on to win three of her next four. He draws to find a spot from barrier 6 in his quest to make it two from two.

Race 1 No. 4 KING OF WESSEX- ($2.60) 

The opener sees the Maiden gallopers stretch out over the 2050m and KING OF WESSEX can break through. The Robbie Griffiths & Matt de Kock-trained galloper hasn’t been far away in his six starts, placing in four. He stepped out over the 2050m here on April 25 and came off a slow tempo from the midfield before running on to fill the exacta behind Subarctic. The son of Saxon Warrior was posted wide without cover but kept coming. He comes into this full of fitness and just needs to find a better spot in the run this time around.

Race 4 No.10 MAID IN DUBAI- ($4.20) 

This might be the one for MAID IN DUBAI to break through. The Moody/Coleman galloper was thereabouts in her four runs at her last preparation and resumed with a promising effort to place 5th at Mornington on April 29 over the 1200m. She was back in the run before working into it but was held up at various times in the straight when looking to have a bit to offer, eventually going down by just over a length in a race that was run in quick time relative to this grade. The daughter of Pride Of Dubai will strip fitter for this.
