Race 1 No. 11 LADY OF SAVOY ($3.20) 

LADY OF SAVOY can break the Maiden in the opener. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and has finished runner-up in both of those. At her most recent start, she led at Kyneton and was nailed late by Libya Way, running slick time relative to this grade. It was a similar story prior to that at Mornington. The daughter of Tivaci has the speed to overcome the wide barrier and should be at her peak at her third run. 

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 4 No. 1 STARIANNE- ($4.60) 

STARIANNE shapes as a solid player in Race 4. The Busuttin/Young galloper was a winner first up over the 1400m at Pakenham in a BenchMark 78 before heading to Flemington on Oaks day, finishing 6th over the 1700m behind Precious Charm. She didn’t quite handle the step up in trip that day, fading late. The promising galloper drops slightly in distance and this looks easier.

Race 2 No. 2 SAMANTH – ($6.50) 

SAMANTH can go close in Race 2. The Bendigo galloper was a dominant winner on debut at Swan Hill over the 975m before lining up at her home track and placing 3rd behind Paradise City. The runner-up out of that then went on to claim a BenchMark 64 before finishing 5th at Group 3 level. The daughter of Foxwedge went 2.1 lengths slower than standard in the Bendigo run, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. She comes in with a seven-week break and will settle handy in the small field.
