Moonee Valley Tips 08/12/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 1 PRIVATE JUMBO- ($2)

Keen on PRIVATE JUMBO in the final race of the day. The four-year-old has finished top two in all six of his career starts, winning one, but bumping into some top performers in some of the others, including a luckless performance behind Euphoric. His most recent start came at Flemington over the winter and he narrowly went down behind Brung King in what has proven to be an excellent form race. This looks like a bit of an easy kill for the son of Reward For Effort.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 11 SEA OF LIGHTS- ($2.30)

SEA OF LIGHTS can go close in the opener at the Valley. The three-year-old showed improvement when stepping up to the 1600m on November 24 at Moonee Valley, settling handy before going down in a blanket finish behind Grand Touraine. A firmer in the early betting, the daughter of Pride Of Dubai should enjoy the run of the race from barrier 2 and this looks slightly easier.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 1 OUR CRACKLIN ROSIE- ($2.80)

OUR CRACKLIN ROSIE should be hard to beat in Race 3. The Shane Nichols-trained filly will be out to make it a hat-trick of wins and led all the way at the track and trip on November 24 to defeat Under And Over. She ran quick time in the process and does look to have an edge on this lot. Will Price rides and claims the 1.5kg.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2 No. 1 DIESEL- ($6.75)

DIESEL is not without a chance in Race 2. The four-year-old comes down from North-East Victoria and was a runner-up at Albury when resuming on November 10, running on to just miss behind Cuffe’s Grange. Second up last time he was ok when 8th at Listed level behind a subsequent Group 1 winner in the Port Adelaide Guineas (1800m). He then tapered off over longer trips. This distance range looks better for the son of More Than Ready.
