Race 6 No. 6 JENNILALA – ($4.20)

Some promising types line up in a BenchMark 64 in Race 6 and the Maher Eustace stable have a solid hand with four runners. Suspect that JENNILALA is the pick of those and she was a three length winner on debut at the track and trip before rising to Listed level and running 5th at Caulfield in the Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m). She had little luck in that race but stuck on. A big firmer in the early betting, the daughter of Shalaa will be ridden by Ethan Brown, who is striking at 27%, providing a 34% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 3 No. 9 PLAYING IT SAFE – ($10)

PLAYING IT SAFE shapes as a value pick in Race 3 at Moonee Valley. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper gets out to the 2040m journey and was solid at her most recent run when 3rd over the 1700m at Warrnambool. That came in a BenchMark 58 but the race rated well and she was posted wide before running on to go 2.7 lengths faster than standard, which is seven lengths better than the next best last start benchmark figures of any runner. She was ok from well back in a BM70 prior to that at Sandown. The daughter of Written Tycoon has plenty of fitness in the tank and was excellent at this stage of her last preparation.

Race 8 No. 15 TOM ROCKS – ($26)

Hoping the third emergency, TOM ROCKS, can sneak into the field in the final event of the evening. The on-pacer from the Gavin Bedggood stable should be suited at the Valley and was a winner at Geelong four starts ago and has since placed in two of his past three. At her latest, she led them up at Pakenham and worked hard in the early stages before being taken on a long way out. The daugther of Scissor Kick stuck on well to finish two lengths off the winner. She should enjoy a bit more piece up in front this time around and is worth consideration at nice odds.
