Moonee Valley Tips for Friday, September 29

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 4 No. 11 BOOGNISH- ($3.10)

Nice performance by BOOGNISH at Morphettville over the 1541m on September 16 when stepping up in distance and the South Aussie can go one spot better after finishing runner-up behind Angry Skies. The four-year-old pushed up to race on the speed and took over at the 400m, only to be edged out late. She had a three length gap back to 3rd and went 7.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The four-year-old draws barrier 4 for this assignment and should be suited at the Valley.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 2 No 4 COINCIDE- ($7.50)

COINCIDE shapes as a value player in Race 2. The Waterhouse & Bott-trainned galloper won two on the trot before jumping to Group 3 level, finishing 6th behind Veight. He did all the early work in that race before running out of steam late. The son of Invader bumps into the likes of Brave Mead, who was solid behind Steparty at the Valley last time. But Coincide will find this easier and there does not look to be as much pressure up front this time around. He is the one that they will need to catch.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 4 No 3 HOME RULE – ($8.50)

HOME RULE can go on with the job after scoring in impressive fashion at Morphettville five weeks ago. That was after a 10-week break and came at BenchMark 82 level. The Maddie Raymond-trained galloper settled handy and was strong to the line. She has had three runs at the track for a win and a placing over the 955m when fresh at her last campaign. The six-year-old is likely to settle handy from barrier 3 and will be ridden by John Allen.
