Race 5 No. 1 PHILOSOPHER ($3) 

This looks to be a suitable assignment for PHILOSOPHER to kick off his summer campaign. The Enver Jusufovic-trained galloper has not been seen since finishing 6th behind the handy galloper, Rich Fortune, at Moonee Valley last year but might have a bit of a class edge on this lot. He was placed in a Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) as a youngster and generally performs well when fresh. Luke Cartwright rides and claims the 3kg.

Race 6 No. 1 FINE WEATHER- ($5.50) 

FINE WEATHER can be an improver in Race 6. The six-year-old was solid two starts ago over the 1600m at Pakenham before getting back from the barrier and plodding away for 8th in a BenchMark 64 over the 2040m at Moonee Valley. He was an improver when getting to this trip at his last preparation by winning at Cranbourne and should appreciate a track with the sting out of the ground.
