Race 5 No. 13 TOKENIST- ($1.75)
Short quote but TOKENIST looks the goods in Race 5 at Mornington. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper settled handy at Bendigo over the 1400m on September 21 and just missed behind Captain Pluto, with those two putting a four length gap on the rest of the field. He comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner in this field and the son of Ifraaj should have scope for improvement out to the 1700m.

Race 2 No. 1 NICKELBACK- ($1.75)
NICKELBACK can go close in Race 2. The Team Hawkes galloper comes down from NSW and has placed in four of five career starts. He resumed at Hawkesbury on September 8 and botched the start before making up good ground on the inside in the closing stages. The four-year-old went 3.2 lengths slower than standard, which is better than what any runner in this race has produced. Earlier in his career he improved nearly 13 lengths on benchmark figures when going 2.2 lengths faster than standard to place at Canterbury. The son of Nicconi can settle closer this time around and we can expect to see him in the finish.

Race 8 No. 8 DANCELITTLESISTER- ($3.50)
DANCELITTLESISTER looks to be a major player at her first run back from a spell. The Busuttin/Young galloper goes well first up and finished runner-up at her first three runs last time in before taking on some handy types at Caulfield. At her fresh run last time she settled on the speed before missing out by a length behind Joseylin over the 955m at Moonee Valley. The daughter of Sacred Falls is likely to lead, which is usually a bonus at Mornington, as is the likelihood of wet conditions.
