Morphettville Tips 4/11/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 1 JENKINS – ($7.50)

The class edge in this race goes to Jenkins who we’ll stick with after landing us a welcome double figure dividend last start. He comes out of a slowly run race where we backed his turn of foot to get over a similar field. Lachlan Neindorf found himself posted wide with cover towards the back of a crawling speed. He gave the horse a nice ride into the race as he found the back of one to take him inside the 300m. Jenkins did the rest to get his head down in front of Fancify on the line. That made it back-to-back wins for Jenkins who also won over 1400m second-up in a truly run race. Drawn well, gets the claim for Hannah Edgley and Jenkins may find himself gaining the gun-run on Saturday.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 2 AMMO AMOR – ($4.80)

Murray Bridge trainer Kristi Evans badly deserves another win with AMMO AMOR who comes through all the stronger form races. The horse was no match for Thirsty Guest and Aitch D’amico when staying to the 1550m on the Parks track. Evans then sent Ammo Amor out to a trip where he kept coming in a fast run race to finish third behind Vino Decasa Nostra in an extraordinary race time. Ammo Amor turned the tables on that horse while getting to within half-a-length of Silent Surrente over this track and trip last start. Ammo Amor now meets a couple of up-and-coming mid distance/staying types who will be staking their claims in what promises to be an entertaining race.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3 No. 7 MASTER AT ARMS – ($7.10)

Lack of early race pressure may play against MASTER AT ARMS at Morphettville Racecourse on Saturday. If they do pack up however, then Master At Arms does possess the superior turn of foot. Found his customary position towards the back of the field before powering home for third over this track and trip when resuming. Master At Arms was a first-up winner at Murray Bridge last time in before getting home for third behind Endlessly over 1100m second-up. Would’ve perhaps preferred to have drawn out a touch, and to maybe see more speed in the race on paper.
