Morphettville Parks Tips 6/10/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 3 SOAMES – ($2.85)

The Morphettville training duo of Dan Clarken & Oopy MacGillivray have seemingly found the right race for SOAMES who gets out to a trip for the first time. He drew wide when caught deep without cover in a midfield position as they slowed the speed in front. Soames finished strongly over the mile that day despite being pushed further wide on turning. The stable kept Soames to a similar trip when Ben Price gave him a lovely run midfield the fence in a truly run race. Soames did not show the same turn of foot as he kept grinding to finish third behind Imbibe. Price can afford the horse a good run in transit again with Soames now looking for the extra trip on Friday.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 7 IN THE DARKNESS – ($3.80)

Into The Darkness was a little slow once they hit the ground second-up at Balaklava. Still showed enough freshness to scoot through to an on-pace position under Jacob Opperman. That was the place to be, and the pair were perhaps a little unlucky not to have beaten track specialist Katim’s Club. They became held-up for a run into the straight before angling off heels to have one last crack at the winner. Since pushed forward from a wide gate to race on top of a fast speed over this trip at Murray Bridge. We were on In The Darkness as our Best Bet of the day then and are prepared to forget in what was a brave effort from the horse. He was there to be beaten and was only claimed late by two horses who both came from well off the speed.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3 No. 4 CARARADA – ($5.50)

The maiden won by Braveman’sgame at Morphettville Racecourse should work out okay even though they didn’t get home all that fast. CARARADA jumped better with the blinkers off and visors on first up which enabled Dom Tourneur to race near the speed. He kept her smothered up into the straight and Carrarada was okay to the line. Nearly a length slow out of the machines again when racing second-up before hunting through to sit under the speed. Cararada kept going to fill the placings in another Saturday maiden. Fitter third-up and we’ll roll the dice on the honest galloper from a low-percentage gate while trainer John Hyam re-applies the blinkers.
