Race 2 No. 4 NODACHI – ($2.15)

Tactics may play a big part in the outcome of the Sire’s Produce for 2yo’s with this pace map being tricky for some. It’s in this area Johnny Allen holds an advantage over his rivals as he partners NODACHI. Mathew Ellerton has brought her over for some black type after the filly put herself into the race early over 1200m behind Legacies. Nodachi wanted to change stride into the straight as she commenced her run after the subsequent Listed winner. She kept coming out wider as Legacies found a winning break back to the inside. Ellerton then sent her around for a soft kill at Bendigo where she again put herself into the race early. Nodachi relaxed beautifully under Joel Bowditch before coming away to win in sharp time over the 1400m.

Race 6 No. 6 HONGBAO – ($8)

We’ll back Goolwa trainer David Jolly in as he comes to Morphettville Racecourse with a set plan for HONGBAO. His four-year-old has built an imposing record over the track while building through the grades. Sprinted sharply under 59.5 kgs for Barend Vorster as he dropped a Benchmark 68 field over this trip in February. That was from a similar inside gate as Vorster kept the gelding smothered up before working clear inside the furlong. Had to be taken back from wide gates in his next two runs before finishing strongly. Given a let-up before landing in easier grade while lumping 65.5 kgs in order to earn a spot in the final. Hongbao will enjoy the pressure on up front as lines up from an inside gate while down in the weights.

Race 8 No. 2 PEARL ADIOS – ($12)

Opie Bosson arrives at Morphettville Racecourse in top form and lands a handy ride aboard PEARL ADIOS for Macdonald-Gluyas. The local stable has snapped up the top hoop as with their local Jason Holder partnering stablemate Party Princess. There’s not much between these two horses; however, we do like Pearl Adios coming back to the mile. Not sure he really ran the 1800m out fully last time when following subsequent G1 winner Affaire A Suivre. That filly dropped him from the 450m with Pearl Adios only honest at best to the line. Showed a sense of brilliance over this track and trip the start before rounding when them up to score. The Victorians haven’t sent their A-Graders over for the Guineas and Pearl Adios has drawn to finish amongst them.
