BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 11 KINETIC JEWEL ($10)

Tommy Stokes has run into a solid three-year-old line-up for stable debutante KINETIC JEWEL. The filly would seem destined to end up at the head stable of Phillip Stokes in Victoria after impressive displays during her public jumpout and recent barrier trial. Kinetic Jewel messed the start of her 600m jumpout with Kayla Crowther allowing her mount to find her feet. Kinetic Jewel showed impressive movement in the way that she moved into that hit out on the turn. The Stokes’ tipped her out following that run before bringing her back to win a barrier trial at Murray Bridge. Kinetic Jewel ran time in that heat while wanting to hang into the straight. She does look very good and appears up to a race of this caliber.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 10 No. 2 FLYWAY ($3.60)

Scott Westover had given FLYWAY a slight break following three strong performances which had netted two wins a close second. We were keen to be on Flyway with plenty of horses coming out from behind her to win other races since. Jake Toeroek settled Flyway in a back position as expected over the shorter 1400 metre journey. The pace of the race was just okay without favouring those from worse than a midfield position. Jake just needed Todd Pannell to slide for him a little earlier on Lord Luker and was forced to hold up and wait. Flyway really hit the line hard between horses in a race where they ran a strong Last 600m. She was racing well short of her best distance while still having plenty of room to move up through her benchmark levels.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 10 RED ROOF ($21)

There was a big video watch placed on RED ROOF who should have won a thin race on the Morphettville Parks track two starts back. Became held-up at a vital stage into the straight before Teagan Voorham worked her into the clear. Red Roof went down narrowly behind I’m Kenny who led in a muddling run race. Barrier 15 was enough to leave us off from selecting Red Roof at his first start on the outer track which played into the hands of the leaders all day. Alana Livesey elected to come back to last from the draw and ride for luck along the fence. She didn’t find much of that, and Red Roof finished her race off well against the pattern. Queen of the comebacks Stacey Metcalfe will be reliant on Just Jazz setting a strong tempo as Red Roof is still yet to draw a gate.
