Morphettville Parks Tips 23/03/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5 No. 2 CELUI – ($3.10)

Bendigo trainer Brent Stanley is likely headed to Adelaide after scratching dual accepted runner CELUI from a race at Albury on Friday. He’ll bring stable rider Mickaelle Michel over for the one ride following two recent jump out wins from Celui with Michel aboard. The horse was never asked of much in either and showed his natural pace to come to put a gap on the others. The race times from his wins at both Bendigo and Moonee Valley will hold Celui in good stead for his return on Saturday. Michel will roll forward on Celui which should be the place to be out of the chute if the current forecast of a strong South-Easterly holds on Saturday.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 2 WHEELS – ($3.90)

Jason Holder returned to scale a winner aboard WHEELS over this track and trip two starts back. The money came for the mare and Holder summed the race up best when settling off a good tempo. She was always going to win as Stubby eased her to the outside into the straight with Wheels justifying her quote for favouritism with an easy five-length romp. Wheels then found a couple of horses too good for her after looking the winner when slightly back in trip on the Parks track. Better suited to the open spaces here at headquarters where Wheels can open up on her rivals once more.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 9 No. 5 THREE RINGS – ($13)

We marked THREE RINGS as a horse of interest following a recent review from Morphettville Racecourse. Cody Reardon had the horse racing first-up over 1100m against a handy field on Adelaide Cup Day. Regular stable rider Emily Finnegan allowed her mount to come back to near last on settling. They were still well off them on turning before Finnegan edged off the fence on straightening. Three Rings let rip up the middle of the Morphettville straight in an eye-catching run to finish second behind Lovely Lookin’. His considerably high benchmark rating for a horse eligible for class one makes it hard to black book Three Kings. We’ll have something on at the double figures on Saturday and see if he can justify those ratings.
