Morphettville Tips 25/11/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 9 No. 9 WAKANJEJA – ($4)
We’ll wait until the last on Finals Day at Morphettville Racecourse to find our best bet in WAKANJEJA. This race has a familiar setup to it for both Kayla Crowther and Phillip Stokes as they shoot for three-straight wins. Crowther was happy to let Wakenjeja find his feet at the back of the field when Stokes sent the mare around first-up over 1000 metres on the Parks Track. Wakenjeja rounded them up as the widest runner to go on for a pretty comfortable win in the end. The team produced the same again as Wakenjeja stormed to another comfortable win over this track and trip second-up. Stokes has given the mare a little let-up in preparation for the final with Wakenjeja in what looks to have been a genuine long-term plan from the stable.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 5 DAZZLING PROSPECT – ($5)
Consistent galloper DAZZLING PROSPECT broke through for a well-deserved win at his home track of Gawler Racecourse two starts ago. He settled just off the speed before Dom Tourneur edged Dazzling Prospect out to the middle of the track on turning. The horse was well backed to produce a powerful burst up the Gawler straight to race away from his rivals over the 1700 metres. Gave some weight plus a margin to the winner Hobo Bob at his next start over this track and trip. Dazzling Prospect has drawn to find an economical run behind some tempo in what should be an open betting race.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8 No. 3 AZTEC DANCER – ($11)
We’re going to follow the race from Morphettville in October as a fast run BM64 for fillies and mares over 1050m. Jacob Opperman allowed Aztec Dancer to come back off the good speed from their wide gate. The pair followed impressive winner Aviatress home with race positioning perhaps the telling factor. Aztec Dancer is only lightly raced while closer to the top of the benchmark ratings. They ran home in good time and we’re yet to know where the top of both Aviatress and Aztec Dancer is. The Searle team have since kept Aztec Dancer ticking over with a recent trial at Gawler where she finished off along the outside rail late.
