BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 2 NOSTRYIA ($4.65)
We’ve been waiting to see NOSTRYIA show any sign of recapturing his earlier promise and we got that last start. Nostryia did win his jumpout prior to resuming which is nothing unusual for him. Nice to see him put it together on race day under apprentice Alana Livesey who found a handy spot just forward of midfield. She had to switch off heels into the straight as the winner Londrodex raced to the lead with momentum. Nostryia stuck to his task to keep coming late for second place. This Class One race rates similarly and he has drawn perfectly on the back-up for former Kiwi apprentice Kelsey Hannan.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 5 BELLINGER ($6.50)
Training trio Ben, Will & JD Hayes have BELLINGER racing first-up at Morphettville Parks on Saturday. She moved beautifully at her most recent jumpout and does tend to race well when fresh. Bellinger won like a good thing when Laura Lafferty claimed her 3kgs to guide her home in a BM70 against the mares on the outer track here last prep. The pair then followed-up with another dominant win over Chicago Storm over 1300m on this track. She’s drawn beautifully for Jake Toeroek to find plenty of cover behind the speed. Bellinger is a proven weight carrier with genuine ability to quicken into her races.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 6 DOES IT ($12)
Premiership training partners Richard and Chantelle Jolly appear to have found the right race for DOES IT. The horse is searching for his first win since landing the Onkaparinga Cup at Oakbank in April last year. Not sure about most of the others in this; however, there appears to be a sense of timing for Does It. He’s had the three runs back this time back including a handy third when chasing Silent Don over 1800m on the outer track a fortnight ago. Map works out a bit tricky for Does It and we will back Jake Toeroek to be positive early from the gate. Pace after that would appear to be non-existent with Jockey tactics playing a massive part in the outcome of this race.
