Moruya Tips for Friday, September 29

Our form expert provides Moruya tips for today’s horse racing at Moruya Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.1  SUNCHYME  ($4.05 with BoomBet)

The Keith Dryden-trained SUNCHYME Came back to Earth last start but down in grade today, looks set to bounce back in this contest. The stable saddled him up to take on a Class 2 Hcp (coming off his maiden win two starts back), where he drew the car park in gate 14 (of 14). In the run home, he was threatening the leading bunch but then copped a check, and that was it for him. He drops in grade today and looks far better placed here. Drawn sweetly in gate four, he maps to settle just behind the pace where he should get first crack at them. Jack Martin rode him to that maiden success and returns for this assignment. A trouble-free run here should see him fight out the finish today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.4  ICONIC DAME  ($4 with Picklebet)

Local galloper ICONIC DAME is in top-shelf form this time in and look set for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Nicconi mare was third-up when she gave them a galloping lesson as she took out the South Coast Clubs Cup, here over 1425m. Ridden a treat by Jean Van Overmeire, she jumped from gate one and was box-seating on settling. She came off heels and took over inside the final 200m and went on to win by a length on the line. She comes off a six-week freshen-up here and drops back in distance but is already a two-time winner over the shorter trip. Van Overmeire sticks with the mare for today’s assignment who only needs a trouble-free run here to stake a serious claim to the winner’s cheque.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3:  No.6  SEASIDE SANDY  ($4.80 with Ladbrokes)

Hawkesbury visitor SEASIDE SANDY sees the Moruya track for the first time today and after finding her mojo of late, looks a genuine winning chance here. Last start, the Real Impact mare came off a win at Queanbeyan when she beat all but one home at Dubbo in a BM58 Hcp over the 1600m trip. This looks no harder as she drops 3kgs for this contest and has Kayla Nisbet returning for the ride after steering her to that Queanbeyan victory. She comes in just a half kilo over the limit there and should give us a real run for our hard earned today.
