BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 2 HASTA LA PRINCE – ($5.50)
Naracoorte horsewoman Sue Murphy can continue her stable’s hot run of form as HASTA LA PRINCE shoots for three straight wins on Friday. The horse found himself a long way back through the early stages of a 2000 metre race on his home track two starts ago. Todd Pannell eased him to the outer part of the track where Hasta La Prince put in the big strides to blouse them late. Pannell wasn’t happy with the muddling tempo of the race last time out and so sent his horse forward in a mid-race move. Hasta La Prince found a fight in his hands as Badonkidonk attempted to close the margin. Hasta La Prince fended the challenge to score with those two horses coming well away from the rest of the field.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 2 No. 5 ABSOLUTE STUNNER – ($4.60)
Trial hero ABSOLUTE STUNNER returns to the races for the first time since her debut in a strong maiden at Murray Bridge back in march of this year. The powerfully built mare put herself somewhere near the speed after a tardy getaway and never really figured from there. Trainer Sharon Hayes subsequently spelled her horse following the run. Absolute Stunner came into that race off the back of some forward showings in her barrier trials. She showed pace once again to lead in her recent trial at Naracoorte where she moved away to put a gap on the others inside the furlong. Hayes has set a realistic target for Absolute Stunner who will be resuming in a thin maiden on Friday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8 No. 10 DUKE OF ANJOU – ($13)
DUKE OF ANJOU has been racing well enough of late to put himself into the frame at Mount Gambier Racecourse on Friday. This horse has found a new lease on life since transferring to the Millicent stables of local trainer Craig Stewart. Stewart has been able to get this horse to race up on the speed, enabling Duke Of Anjou to win two of his last four races. Sairyn Fawke found the front against a similar opposition at Bordertown recently with Duke Of Anjou going all the way to score. The pair have drawn to put themselves onto the speed once more while the market have let them out the back gate yet again
