Mount Gambier Tips 03/01/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 1 GEMINGA – ($3.30)

Zoe Lloyd takes three kilos off the back of top weight GEMINGA who finds her best chance to break through this prep. She won two races over this track and trip when trained by Maddie Raymond as Harry Grace let the speed go before reeling them in nearing the dog leg. Murray Bridge trainer Gary Boyce will have Geminga fitter for three runs back from a spell which were all in higher grade. The latest of which saw Geminga chasing Willaston home over 1050 metres in sharp time at Morphettville. There will be good pressure up front in this with Lloyd drawn to do the stalking.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 7 RADIANT KNIGHT – ($6.50)

The two kilo claim for Tayla Childs brings RADIANT KNIGHT into calculations as an each-way bet at Mount Gambier Racecourse on Wednesday. Morphettville trainer Peter Nolan sent the former New South Wales galloper first-up over 1250 metres in town. Radiant Knight settled behind the speed before proving to be no match for the likes of Give Some Lip. Followed-up by leading a maiden field in the provincials at Gawler over six-furlongs on a Soft 7. The winner Vexatious Dancer has shown to be up to city class with another win and placing at metro level since. Radiant Knight wasn’t beaten far in either of those runs with Nolan applying the blinkers while bringing his horse to Mount Gambier off a slight break between runs.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 6 AEROETTE – ($10)

The lack of genuine speed in the last at Mount Gambier Racecourse on Wednesday may see Kate Walters cross into a handy position aboard AEROETTE. The Wayne & Kate Walters team have dominated at home of late, and they hold another strong hand on the card. Wayne brought Aeroette back to this track and trip to score following a close placing over 2000 metres at Saint Arnaud. Aeroette had been caught wide without cover following the good tempo set by Orpheline in a restricted 54 race. Kate just kept her horse balanced with hands and heels riding as the pair went on to record a tough win. Since disappointed over 1800 metres at Horsham and racing back in trip at home may just do the trick again for Aeroette.
