BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 3 TEEMENZED – ($16)
We expect there’ll be some market support should the overnight and morning rain continue for TEEMENZED. Dom Tourneur rode him a treat when racing here third-up for local trainer Jason Post. The pair settled near the fence while following the speed as Post kept Teemenzed to the 1550 metres. They tried to go with Shiny Rock as they straightened past the dog leg with the latter proving too strong. That horse has proven the form twice since and Teemenzed did gap the rest. Teemenzed is proven in heavy conditions, having bolted in with his maiden over this track and trip on a heavy only seven starts ago.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5 No. 1 SHINY ROCK – ($2.90)
Garret Lynch brings his form horse of the moment SHINY ROCK back to Mount Gambier. He won here on a heavy 10 three starts back under Sairyn Fawke in a restricted 58 race. Shiny Rock was trucking from a long way out before Fawke let him loose around the field. The pair did have to do some battle with Teemenzed before coming clear inside the 100m. Made ground from the back in a slowly run race to finish second as Melissa Kate led from start to finish. Shiny Rock then showed that he can handle all surfaces as Fawke brought him with a long run after missing the kick at Port Augusta. Shiny Rock came away for a big win and is expected to start as a very short price favourite on Sunday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 5 ANRUSHKA – ($15)
Jeff Maund looks to have his work cut out in the first couple of furlongs as he guides ANRUSHKA at Mount Gambier Racecourse on Sunday. The pair have drawn out with speed engaged inside them in what would be the main race of the day. ANRUSHKA is race-fit and has the score on the board as far as bottomless tracks go. Maund was able to settle off the speed when Anrushka landed over 1100m on a Heavy track in Penola. They took the shortcuts through back to the middle of the track to tip out Elsa’s Pride in a BM62. Landed another win when able to find an easy lead over 1400 metres here in this class last start. Maund won’t be able to control proceedings so easily here as Anrushka comes back to the 1200m. They may find a trailing line with cover with Anrushka before finishing with momentum past the dog leg.
