BEST BET 🏆
Race 7 No. 2 ACTION IN CAIRNS ($5)
There is plenty to like about the chances of local galloper ACTION IN CAIRNS who is coming in off a break at Mount Gambier Racecourse on Wednesday. Trainer Micheal O’leary prepared Action In Cairns to put three wins together last prep with the latest two being against similar class. Dom Tourneur had been able to follow the speed with him to put their races to bed by the dog leg. Dom’s riding in great form and ride a similar pattern with Action In Cairns drawn perfectly to follow the speed again. No need to reinvent the wheel at Mount Gambier on Wednesday, we’ll stick with the form horse from a strong local stable while being ridden by a top in-form jockey.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 9 CONNEMARA QUEEN ($4.20)
The wide barrier may be of some concern for CONNEMARA QUEEN at Mount Gambier on Wednesday. They do win from out there on this track though, and there should be some good pressure going on up front. She came back out of the speed battle to get up in the last few bounds over 1300 metres at Bordertown two starts back. Have always believed that’s the style that suits Connemara Queen the best. She did roll a little closer at Balaklava at her most recent run. Ben Price remained conscious of a tearaway leader in the race while following the winner May Be Fate. While Connemara Queen could not pick that horse up late, she did continue strongly enough to finish second in a good race.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 3 FLASHY CZARINA ($11)
Track winner FLASHY CZARINA finds a race back in grade as trainer Darryl Dodson gets her out to the 1210 metres. The flashy chestnut got up in the last bound after getting back over 900 metres here on debut. Alana Livesey had circled the field by the dog leg to get home after giving the leaders a fair start inside the furlong. Her two runs this time back have been just fair over 1000 metres against stronger opposition at both Murray Bridge and Warracknabeal. Being a winner here is a plus, as is welcoming Rochelle Milnes into the saddle on Wednesday.
