BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.6  NAVAL COMMISSION  ($2.90 with bet365)

Race tactics will play a major role here as the Maher & Eustace-trained NAVAL COMMISSION draws the outside gate but has the runs on the board to suggest he will take beating in this contest. Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding came off a first-up Maiden win at Nowra (over 1400m) when he finished third in a BM58 Hcp at Scone, stepping-up to the 1700m journey that day. He drew wide (gate 10 of 12) and had 59.5kgs to carry and travelled three-deep most of the way. Aaron Bullock has the reins today and from gate 14, he maps to settle near the speed, however it could be a case of wait and see. The stable are confident he will handle the step-up to the 2000m here and fitter for two runs back, he still looks the one to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1:  No.2  KISSING SUPIDO  ($2.70 with Ladbrokes)

Yet to miss a podium finish this time in, KISSING SUPIDO makes his track debut today and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Supido gelding finally broke through for his maiden victory when third-up this preparation. He settle in front from gate seven and held them comfortably to win by more than a length that day over 1200m at Port Macquarie. He maps to lead again today from gate six and dictating the speed here, his opposition have the job of running him down. Rock-hard fit from three-straight top-three runs, he looks the goods today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.6  TOULON FACTOR  ($10 with BoomBet)

Dubbo galloper, TOULON FACTOR, is now three starts into this preparation and coming off a six-week freshen-up, looks a serious player in this contest at odds today. Last start, the six-year-old son of The Factor was third-up and showing further improvement, took out a BM58 Hcp over 1400m on his home track. Coming from back in the field, he finished over the top of them with 61kgs on his back that day. He gets all the favours here from gate one and has Clay Gallagher returning for the ride, having ridden him twice previously. He maps to settle just behind the speed today and with a clear run to the line, he should be hard to hold out here.
