BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 8 SAVILLE – ($8)
Training duo Greg Lesnikowski & Ryan Hannemann have Racingbase SA favourite SAVILLE lining up at Murray Bridge Racecourse on Saturday. The lightly raced Saville has already posted four wins with Racingbase SA being on for all of them at good prices. He was the winner of that strong 0-58 race at Balaklava two starts ago which has since produced five individual winners – all of whom Racingbase SA have been on at good prices. Meets the Celsius Star formline here with Saville running slightly faster over all time while posting quicker late sectionals. The rail was in the same position, with the penetrometer at 6.2 on a soft 6 for Saville while Celsius Star competed on a soft 5 with the penetrometer at 5.9. Saville rises two kgs as senior rider Jeff Maund now takes the ride. Celsius Star drops two kgs with the claim of Sheriden Tomlinson. All in all a good race with a mild South-Westerly forecast suggesting all horses should get their chance.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 2 No. 4 KEEVS – ($3.95)
Jacob Opperman retains the ride aboard KEEVS after winning on the horse over this track and distance last start. Mornington trainer Rob Blacker sent Keevs over to Murray Bridge in a bid to look for some metro staying races. The gelding had just broken his maiden over 2400 metres at Cranbourne prior to being let out the gate by punters in a thin race at Murray Bridge. Opperman ensured his galloper kept plenty of space between himself and the other horses during the run. Not sure he will get that here after drawing an inside gate with a clump of horses around him. Keevs was impressive in the concluding stages last start while listening out for the other horses before pricking his ears on the line. Would be clear Best Bet if we were confident of being able to find that space in running on Saturday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 11 MOTELL – ($12)
Tasmanian premiership rider Codi Jordan can make it a winning day at Murray Bridge Racecourse aboard MOTELL for her new boss in Jon O’Connor. Codi comes to SA as an experienced apprentice who is still able to claim 3kg due to the lack of metro rated meetings in Tasmania. She will likely get back early on Motell and we will be hoping the tinkering with the head gear by O’Connor does its trick. We also do expect Motell to be better suited back on top of the ground after not letting down in his usual manner at his past couple.
