BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 3 UNDERSTATEMENT – ($5.30)
Stuart Gower brought UNDERSTATEMENT back from a two month break to send him around over 1800 metres here. He had cover while tracking wide under Jake Toeroek and towards the back of midfield. The pair made an early race move to hit the front rounding for home with Understatement shooting away. It took just one horse in Getouttheway to spoil the party while leaving a gap back to the others. Never got on the track again over 1900m at Oakbank with Toeroek pushing on early. Understatement ran a brave third to Havaduel that day before being tested in town over 2500m. He’ll be at peak fitness now and does boast two wins from four starts over this track and distance.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 4 PLATINUM WOLF – ($3)
Local trainer Kristi Evans will have her sights set on the series final with PLATINUM WOLF. Many punters also will have the big grey firmly in their black books and we can expect solid market support. Tightened from even money to deep into the red when breaking his maiden over this track and trip. Evans tipped him out following that start with Teagan Voorham getting the job done on him at Gawler when resuming. Flashed home in a strong race over 1200 metres behind Lounge Bar Rubi and Chicago Storm last time at Morphettville. That will be the strongest formlines we’ll see at Murray Bridge Racecourse on Wednesday. Prominent senior rider Teagan Voorham regains the ride to send punters home with a winner in the last.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5 No. 10 GENERAL MINT – ($9.50)
The gear changes have been rung in with GENERAL MINT as Francis Smith finds a good 900m assignment for him. Not certain he hasn’t been putting in, however if Justin Potter has suggested a tail chain, then we’ll go with it. Thought General Mint was gone from the top of the straight at Oakbank before he came again over 1050m. Punters pushed him into favouritism as Smith Backed him up again two days later. He disappointed in not finishing off when down in class that day. General Mint carried two apprentices in those races with regular senior Potter coming back on board now. There will be enough pressure up front to give General Mint every chance of letting down and nailing them late.
