Murray Bridge Tips 27/05/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 7 CLASSY KENNY – ($8.10)

Notes from the #SABlackbookers segment mentions a rare 1000m dash on the outer track with 15 runners + 4 emergencies accepted. The short run to a sweeping turn was not ideal for those drawn out wide, including CLASSY KENNY. John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs managed to gain a start as the bottom emergency following scratching’s with Sairyn Fawke taking him back from a carpark draw. The winner never went around a horse as Ellis Wong tracked the speed on Prairie Fire. Classy Kenny continued to come via the cape and flashed home to run fourth. Has since followed with a fast-finishing effort behind Queman at Morphettville, and Classy Kenny shows that he is racing in career best form.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 6 STORYTELLER – ($6)

Coming up with the inside draw is not ideal for STORYTELLER who is a young horse stepping out against a strong field. Local trainer Michael Hickmott turned a few heads when producing Storyteller to score at Oakbank on debut. Ben Price allowed his mount to find his feet early before producing into the straight for a last stride victory. Storyteller had been let out in the market after inspiring little confidence from his lead-up barrier trial. Sealed the deal as a horse in the making when closing the gap late in running second to Sghirripa over 1000 metres on the smaller parks circuit. Ran time last start while giving the impression any extra distance will suit. Todd Pannell takes the ride and there is none better to navigate a tricky inside draw from Gifford Hill.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 9 No. 13 DAWNBURST – ($16.20)

While we are loath to tip two horses from low-percentage gates on the same day, the strength around the races of DAWNBURST commands respect. The usual get back and run on style of Dawnburst hasn’t helped herself, yet we’ve been busily backing horses around her form with success. She comes out of another race which we expect will rate highly when finishing second behind Tapinforpar. Daniel Moor let her come back through the field before attempting to loop them on the Parks track over 1400m. Dawnburst sprinted fast while getting on a long run before peaking somewhere around 75m out. Still kept sticking her neck out to the line and deserves to win a good race in town.
