He makes his Muswellbrook debut today with Aaron Bullock on board and already a winner when third-up, he should be nearing his peak and looks the testing material in this contest.

Scone-based galloper EXTRA SMART has certainly raced true to her name so far and first-up today, looks a serious contender for the major prize here. The Capitalist mare had just one start last preparation which saw her break through for her first win in a 1000m Maiden on her home track. She tracked the speed up front early, then finished too good for them, going on to win by 1.5 lengths in the 14-strong field. She returned to work this month, winning a Muswellbrook trial which caps here off for this contest. Already a winner when first-up, she looks the one to beat today.

Here’s one for the value hunters with Cessnock galloper LAGO’S DAUGHTER third-up today and looking a solid each-way chance in this contest. Last start, the Lago Delight mare was second-up when she finally shook the maiden-monkey tag off and broke through for her first win at Gunnedah over 1250m. Coming from back in the field, she finished over the top of the 14-strong field to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. A repeat of that effort here could easily see her on the podium again.
