BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.5  OHANA JOY  ($5.50 with Palmerbet)

Bathurst galloper OHANA JOY makes her track debut today and fitter for one run back, looks in the mix here. Last start, the Bon Hoffa mare was fresh off a six-month absence when she managed to beat all but one home in an 1100m Maiden on her home track. She ran a new personal best that day, covering the journey, 8.3 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here by 3 lengths. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the contest. Anthony Cavallo is aboard for his first ride on the mare and from gate three, she gets every chance to go one better today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.1  SEA OF FLAMES  ($3.50 with Neds)

The Dubbo-based SEA OF FLAMES returns for a second crack at the Narromine track and looks every chance of going one better today. Last start, the Pluck gelding made his track debut and fresh off a 14-week spell, managed to beat all but one to the line in a Class 3 Hcp over 1300m. He drew the car park that day (gate 12 of 12), and travelled three-wide without cover for most of the race. Despite lacking race fitness, he still managed to take home second prize for the event. He draws the fence today and has the blinkers back on for this assignment. Fitter for that first-up run, he looks the testing material here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.3  CHEPTEGEI  ($4.20 with Unibet)

The Michael Mulholland-trained CHEPTEGEI (pronounced ‘chep-ta-guy’) is a last-start track and distance winner who looks every chance of going back-to-back today. The Tavistock gelding made his Narromine debut last start and did it in style with a solid win in a Class 3 Hcp over the 1300m trip. Settling mid-field, Adrian Layt eased him off the fence before the turn, then found space between runners and once in open spaces, he was off for the prize. He crossed the line nearly two lengths clear of Sea Of Flames (our tip in race six today). This is a big drop in grade today and fitter for two runs back, he looks good value in this contest.
