BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.8 MISS ITALIANA
The Dubbo-based MISS ITALIANA makes her Narromine debut today and fourth-up today looks every chance of going back-to-back in this contest. Last start, the Fastnet Rock mare was having her 12th race start when she finally shook off the Maiden monkey and scored her first win over 1400m at Warren. With apprentice, Shannen Llewellyn aboard, she led on settling and simply ran them off their legs, going on to score by three lengths over the line. Llewellyn sticks with her today and after her 3kg claim, the mare goes to the gates carrying 1kg under the limit. Trainer, Brett Robb has had the four-year-old in his stable for just two starts and already has her firing on all cylinders. She gets the gun-run from gate and maps to be in pride of place (leading) today and at her peak after three runs back, will take plenty of catching here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.6 ELSON BOY
The four-year-old ELSON BOY is high flying lately and looks a solid chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the El Roca gelding came off a good win at Dubbo when he franked that effort by taking out a Class 5 set weights event over 1400m at Coonamble. He has trialled since, winning the 1000m trip on the Mudgee track. Braith Nock is the new pilot today and he will need a touch of luck at barrier rise after drawing gate 11 (of 12) for the contest. With his early gate speed, he maps to cross and settle in the first half dozen and with a trouble-free run, three wins on-the-trot is very possible today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.11 MRS BULL
The Connie Greig-trained MRS BULL is one of the most prolific podium finishers around and looks set to continue that trend here today. Last start, the well-bred Shooting To Win mare notched-up her 14th minor placing (from 25 starts) when she crossed the line in third place in a Class 1 Hcp over 1410m at Orange. With Mikayla Weir in the saddle, she drew the outside gate (12) and settled last before storming home to grab the minor prize on the line. She has drawn wide again here but has Weir steering the ship again and in slightly easier company, she has the opportunity to bring up her second career win today at odds.
