Race 8 No. 10 AUSPIRIT- ($7) 

AUSPIRIT is worth thought in the final race of the day at Mornington. The Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young galloper has won one and placed in a couple of others in his six runs this campaign and comes in with a slight freshen up after only managing 7th at Sandown over the 2400m back on March 20. On face value, she was a tad disappointing but the form out of that has held up with two winners and she does come in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner. The daughter of Australia was placed in her two runs in this grade prior to that and can bounce back with the gap in between runs.

Race 1 No. 10 TELESCOPE- ($8.50) 

TELESCOPE is an each-way player in the opening event of the day at Mornington. The three-year-old has had the four career starts and has placed in all three of her runs this time in. The latest of which saw her stick on to fill the minors behind Etincelle, despite having a tendency to overrace. She just needs to relax a bit better. A firmer in the early betting, this looks a slightly easier Maiden and the daughter of Zoustar draws should be right amongst it from barrier 2.
