BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.3  ATHENE  ($4 with Bet Right)

Terri Rae saddles-up ATHENE here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest she will play a major role in the outcome here. Last start, the Raise The Flag mare resumed after eight months in the paddock when she beat all but one home in the Waimate Cup over 1600m at Phar Lap Raceway. She did it tough that day, sitting outside the leader and having the job of taking the field up to challenge on straightening. It turned into a three-horse war in the run home and she came out of it with the silver medal, beaten a lip on the line. Her resume shows she is a winner at the track, a two-time winner over the mile and a two-time winner when second-up. Terry Moseley sticks with her today and ideally drawn in gate three, she looks the testing material here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.6  ADANNAYA  ($5.80 with BoomBet)

Another from the Lance Robinson stable is ADANNAYA who is high-flying at the moment and looks all set to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Niagara mare came off a solid win, here on the synthetic track, then franked that effort by going back-to-back in a 1200m contest at Phar Lap Raceway. Courtney Barnes was aboard on both occasions and today is looking for her third win on the five-year-old. Ideally drawn in gate three, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen and fitter for three runs back, she looks the one to beat here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1:  No.8  ANNELIESE  ($5.10 with BoomBet)

The Lance Robinson-trained ANNELIESE is in great touch this time in and looks a serious player here. Last start, the Vadamos mare enjoyed a change of luck when she brought up her first win for this campaign, taking out a BM65 Hcp, here over the mile trip. She settled mid-field and travelled three-wide to the turn, then fanning even wider, she ran home strongly to finish best and take home the major prize. She steps up in grade here but has the runs on the board to suggest she can handle the harder company today.
