BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.2  BY NINE  ($4.20 with bet365)

The Matt Smith-trained BY NINE has been knocking on the door for a win at his past few starts and looks well placed here to bring his first of this preparation. Last start, the Tarzino gelding finished bridesmaid yet again when he beat all but one home in a Class 1/Maiden Plate over 1600m at Canberra. He took the turn wide but finished strongly to grab the runner-up cheque in the end. Jason Collett has steered the four-year-old to a win and a second prize finish in his two rides to date and returns here for today’s assignment. Already a winner at this distance, he is now rock-hard fit after five starts back and should be in the mix at the business end of this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2:  No.7  SEANY’S GIRL  ($3.90 with Palmerbet

The John O’Shea-trained SEANY’S GIRL is in good touch this time in and looks well placed here to find the podium again. Last start, the Tavistock mare finished just behind the placegetters, taking home fourth prize in a BM64 Hcp over 1350m at Wyong. Carrying 59.5kgs that day, the Heavy 10 conditions took their toll on the mare and she was far from disgraced, beaten just two lengths over the line. Today, she is back on top of the ground and has placed here over this trip as well. Chad Schofield is the pilot today and with a trouble-free run, she should be there at the finish.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.6  WHATADILEMMA  ($5.50 with Palmerbet)

The Rosehill-based WHATADILEMMA has found the podium as his past three starts and now looks ready to break through today. Last start, the Epaulette gelding made it three-straight third place prizes when he finished a neck from victory in a blanket finish over the mile at Warwick Farm. He steps-up in trip today but drops in weight and has Jean Van Overmeire in the saddle for his first ride on the galloper. Sporting a tongue-tie for the first time and drawing well in gate two, there is plenty to like about his chances today.
