BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.1 SMOKIN’ CRAZY ($3.20 with bet365)
The Scone-based galloper, SMOKIN’ CRAZY, has had a very disruptive career to date and second-up here, just might pull this off today. Last start, the Snitzel mare was resuming after more than seven months off the scene where she managed to beat home all but one in a Class 1 over 1300m on her home track with Aaron Bullock on board. Today she meets similar company and drops a little in weight as Bullock sticks with her for this contest. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she maps to settle right behind the speed and with a clear run to the line, she should prove hard to hold out here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.4 THE SEVEN SEAS ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)
John Sargent saddles-up THE SEVEN SEAS here who is knocking on the door for a win and it can all happen today. Last start, the Merchant Navy mare put in her best effort this preparation when she beat all but one to the line in a BM64 over the mile at Wyong. With Tyler Schiller aboard, she carried 59kgs and chased race favourite (Oakfield Prince) all the way home but had to be satisfied with the silver medal on the day. She drops 2kgs for this assignment as Schiller keeps the job in the saddle. Now five starts into this campaign, she should be at her peak for this and with a trouble-free run today, she looks a serious player for the major prize here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.7 GOT AN INSPIRATION ($7.50 with Picklebet)
The Mark Minervini-trained GOT AN INSPIRATION has his third start for the stable today and in his current form, looks a serious player the major prize here. Last start, the Vadamos gelding destroyed his rivals in a BM58 over 2130m, here on the Beaumont track. He drew the outside gate that day and carrying 58.5kgs, made it look easy as he took over inside the final 200m and raced away to put almost three lengths on them over the line. Grant Buckley steered him to victory and remains in the saddle for this assignment. Up slightly in grade today, he drops in weight and does no early work from gate four where he maps to settle better than midfield with cover. The runs are on the board with this fellow and he is more than capable of going back-to-back today as our Best Value runner on the program.
