BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.7  CONFESS OUR DREAMS  ($1.95 with Ladbrokes)

The Brad Widdup-trained CONFESS OUR DREAMS impressed on debut and looks poised for back-to-back victories today. Facing her first race, the Shalaa filly drew the fence and with Jean Van Overmeire in the saddle, took advantage of the dream draw and finished first of the nine runners in a 900m Maiden Hcp on this track. This came about after contesting (and winning) two trials prior to her debut, both with Van Overmeire aboard. Engaged in another small field today, Van Overmeire sticks with her where the filly can only strip fitter from that debut victory and carrying 1.5kgs less today, she can remain unbeaten after this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.6  INCESSANT  ($2.25 with BoomBet)

Annabel Neasham saddles-up INCESSANT here who turned heads on debut and looks well placed here to go one better today. Last start, the Savabeel colt made his first appearance on the track and was far from disgraced when he beat all but one home in a 1400m Maiden Plate on Randwick’s Kensington track. With Jason Collett aboard, despite drawing the rails gate, he settled near last on the fence and as they cornered, he could see them all. In the run home, Collett couldn’t get clear which saw the three-year-old travelling up-and-down on the one spot and once clear, he stormed home to grab the bridesmaid’s prize, a tragedy beaten. He is drawn out today, which could be a blessing in disguise, where he maps to settle back in the field, but away from the fence. The mile looks ideal for him now and fitter for that debut effort, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.9  CHOLANTE  ($4.55 with BoomBet)

Having her first start for Team Freedman today, CHOLANTE resumes from a lengthy 31-week break but her trial form suggests she will be ready to go at barrier rise. Last preparation, the Choisir mare had just the one start where she came from well back to grab third prize in a blanket finish at Randwick in a BM72 Hcp over 1100m with James McDonald in the saddle. She then joined the Freedman stable and has had two trials since then, winning the most recent with Tyler Schiller aboard for both runs. Already a winner when first-up, Schiller is the pilot for this contest and with a trouble-free run today, she is capable of taking this out.
