BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.6  DYLAN’S LAD  ($3.20 with bet365)

Annabel Neasham saddles-up DYLAN’S LAD here who is third-up and in line for back-to-back victories today. Last (non) start, the Shalaa gelding found himself caught up in the barriers and was taken out by order of the stewards, so he never got to see the Nowra track that day. Prior to that, he was second-up at Mudgee where he broke through for his maiden-win and did it in style. He sat outside the leader to the turn, then soon after took control and put a space on them which he held all the way to the line, with plenty in reserve. Under orders from the Stewards, he has trialled (at Rosehill) since his Nowra mishap provided he has overcome that, he should prove hard to beat in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2:  No.1  EXTRA SMART  ($2.90 with Picklebet)

The John Ramsey-trained EXTRA SMART is second-up today and her form lines suggest she is a prime candidate for victory in this contest. Last start, the Capitalist mare came off a 12-week spell where she came from well back to finish fourth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Scone. Her seven starts to date have all ended in top-five finishes with the former Victorian galloper finding the podium on four occasions. She has finished runner-up twice from as many second-up appearances and today she has Dylan Gibbons as the pilot. Nicely drawn in gate five here, she can give this a real shake today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.3  BEETSON  ($4 with bet365)

Gosford galloper BEETSON is second-up today and looks well placed here for back-to-back wins in this contest. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding resumed off a 19-week break and on fresh legs, gave his maiden rivals a galloping lesson by taking out a 1200m Maiden Plate at Tuncurry. He sat three-wide (with cover) to the turn, then passing the 200m peg, took over and went on to a comfortable win, putting more than a length on them over the line. He finished runner-up when second-up (on this track) last preparation and has Koby Jennings in the saddle today. Ideally drawn in gate three, he looks a serious player in this line-up.
