Race 5:  No.1  ALVINA’S LUCK  ($3.40 with Palmerbet)

The Ron Quinton-trained ALVINA’S LUCK has her second start today and with a little more luck than her debut run, she can take this one out. Last start, the Zoustar mare had no luck in the run home and did well to finish second in the 1100m Maiden Hcp at Hawkesbury. Tyler Schiller was aboard that day and has the job again for this assignment. With that run behind her now, if she can secure a clear run home today, she looks the one to beat here.

Race 3:  No.4  SCHOLL DEEP  ($2.60 with Ladbrokes)

The locally-trained SCHOLL DEEP is off to a great start with her racing career and looks well placed on her home track to continue with the good work. Last start, the Kermadec filly came off a runner-up finish when making her debut and went one better when she destroyed her rivals in a 1250m Maiden Plate at Gunnedah. Sent out a white-hot $1.60 favourite, she gave her supporters no cause for alarm as she put four lengths on the 11-strong field as she crossed the line. Well drawn in gate five here, Kerrin McEvoy has the job today and a repeat of that last start effort should see her hard to beat in this contest.

Race 7:  No.4  ASPEN CHASE  ($5.50 with Bet Right)

Locally-trained by Paul Perry, Aspen Chase is third-up today and should be ready to produce his best here. Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding took on city class company and after leading, weakened to finish mid-field in a BM72 over 1100m at Canterbury with Kathy O’Hara in the saddle. Fitter for two runs back, he returns to the provincial scene today and has O’Hara sticking with him. His home-track record reads seven starts for a win and three minor placings and from gate four today, he gets his chance to bring up career win number four today.
