Race 5: No.6 SACRED GIRL ($2.35 with BoomBet)

The Brad Widdup-trained SACRED GIRL is third-up today and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Sacred Falls mare improved enough from her first-up run to break through for her first win in a 1600m Maiden Plate at Wyong. Ridden a treat by Jean Van Overmeire, he had the mare box-seating on settling and enjoyed the trail to the turn. He then asked the four-year-old for another effort and she responded by collaring the leader and going on to score with something in hand. She covers the same trip today and with Van Overmeire remaining aboard for this assignment, she looks the one to beat again.

Race 6: No.9 NINJA STAR ($3.95 with BoomBet)

Kembla Grange galloper NINJA STAR is in top-shelf form this time in and looks nicely placed here for back-to-back wins today. Last start, the Maurice mare bounced back from an unlucky second at Goulburn when she clobbered them here in a BM58 Hcp over the 1600m trip. Louise Day had her third-straight ride on the mare that day when settled in the box seat and then took control on straightening, going on to score by more than a length on the line. Now a track and distance winner, she steps-up slightly in grade but drops 2kgs for this assignment. She has come back in great form with two wins from her four starts this preparation and looks set to go on with it today.

Race 3: No.6 MAN OF MINE ($7.50 with Ladbrokes)

The locally-trained MAN OF MINE is in good touch this time in and ticks most of the boxes here that suggest he can go back-to-back today. Last start, the Denman gelding was fourth-up when he broke through for his maiden win, here over 1400m. With Quayde Krogh aboard, he led most of the way and did it easy in the end, staving off a late challenge from the odds-on favourite (Vonk) and crossing the line 1.5 lengths clear of them. This looks no harder as Krogh sticks with her today. At odds today and ideally drawn in gate two, another trouble-free run here should see her hard to catch again.
