BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.5 LITTLE COINTREAU ($1.65 with Unibet)
The Joe Pride-trained LITTLE COINTREAU is here on a mission and third-up today, looks very much like that mission could be achieved in this contest. Last start, the Contributer gelding was second-up when he beat all but one home in a 1350m Maiden Plate at Wyong. With Keagan Latham aboard, he was held up on the turn before eventually finding clean air and finished strongly to claim that silver medal. From gate three today, he maps to be box-seating on settling and has Latham sticking with him here. Fitter for those two runs, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.13 TWELFTH NIGHT ($4.60 with Palmerbet)
The Newcastle-based TWELFTH NIGHT is third-up today and looks set for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Shalaa filly showed plenty of improvement when second-up, she broke through for her maiden win over 1500m on her home track. With Tyler Schiller aboard, she was held up on the turn, but found her way clear and charged home to arrive in the last stride. Schiller sticks with the filly today who maps to settle near mid-field here and coming in nicely at the weights, she looks a major player in this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.4 DREAM GAME ($9 with Bet Right)
The Jamie Stewart-trained DREAM GAME resumes off a 10-month break here and having his first start for a new stable, should be ready to perform today. Last start, the Dream Ahead gelding had his last run for Goulburn trainer Matt Dale when he finished third in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1400m on a Heavy 8 that day. He has since enjoyed 10 months in the paddock and comes here boasting a strong fresh record, with three previous first-up runs resulting in a win and two minor placings. Nick Heywood rode the four-year-old to his maiden win last preparation and returns for here for another crack at victory with him. Ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to settle just behind the pace with cover and a clear run to the line should see him hard to hold out (at great odds) in this contest.
