BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.1  FIFO FILLY  ($2.45 with Ladbrokes)

Goulburn-based galloper FIFO FILLY sees the Nowra track for the first time today and second-up, should take some beating. Last start, the Your Song mare resumed off a nine-month absence and wasn’t disgraced when beaten just over two lengths on a Heavy 9 over 1000m at Gundagai. Nick Heywood was aboard that day and has the reins again for this assignment. Back on top of the ground today, she won second-up last preparation and gets the gun-run here from gate one. She looks the testing material in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.2  BODY BOB  ($3.45 with BoomBet)

Former Victorian galloper BODY BOB has his second start for new trainer Pat Murphy today and second-up, making his Nowra debut, looks a genuine winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding came off a 12-week spell and on fresh legs, led all the way to win a BM58 over 1180m on a Heavy 9 at Gundagai. The lightly-raced four-year-old has proven to be a consistent galloper to date, finding the podium five times from his six career-starts, and posting two wins amongst that. Nick Heywood has the reins today and with a trouble-free run here, another podium finish looks all but certain.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.5  ONEOFTHETWELVE  ($4.60 with Picklebet)

The Danielle Seib-trained ONEOFTHETWELVE has his fourth race start today and looks a key player in this field. Last start, the Ad Valorem gelding was second-up when he fought on strongly and did best to score his first victory in a 1300m Maiden Plate on his home track at Goulburn. With Nick Heywood aboard, he took control inside the final 200m and held off the challenges to take home first prize that day. Heywood sticks with him here and with the field reduced after several early scratchings, his wide gate looks no longer an issue. Scratched from last Tuesday’s meeting at Narrandera to race here, his Nowra debut could be a winning one today.
