Race 2 No. 4 TEMBU BOY – ($6) 

Emily Finnegan rides particularly well at Oakbank Racecourse where she can give TEMBU BOY the run of the race on Monday. She was trapped a little wide throughout and forced to race without cover in a strong 2000m maiden at Murray Bridge last start. Tembu Boy edged out Holmes in a battle to the line with Finnegan on one reign to keep him straight over the concluding stages. Holmes had gained the perfect run throughout when settling towards the inside of Tembu Boy. These two horses had made their runs together while running fast time and comfortably holding the others to the line.

Race 6 No. 7 PEACEMAKER – ($11) 

Morphettville trainer Chris Beig brings PEACEMAKER back to the provincials after the horse found himself run off his feet in town last start. They went lickety-split over the 1550m and those out the back struggled to remain in contention. Peacemaker stuck to task and kept coming near the fence to finish within five lengths of them. Drew the inside pill over the mile in his previous start at Balaklava and given a peach to score under Teagan Voorham. They ran along at a fast tempo with the others failing to make any impression into the straight. Stable apprentice Felicity Atkinson can find a similar run with Peacemaker suited by coming back to 1400m on Monday.

Race 3 No. 3 MILITARY PRESS – ($53)

Garrett Lynch can land another one of his mad roughie wins on Monday as Sairyn Fawke looks to get back early on MILITARY PRESS. Messy race with a full field of 14 runners engaged plus four emergencies who are yet to come out. There’s a lot going on up front and through the midfield with some of these maiden runners wanting to find a position from their outside gates. Military Press has shown a tendency to be tardily into stride which may help him here. Finished hard towards the outside section when third behind Chiaro over this track and trip four starts ago. Should’ve finished amongst the placings at his next start behind Extra Hot on Kangaroo Island before turning in two below par runs since.
