BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.5  FOR VICTORY

The Chris Waller-trained FOR VICTORY is running himself into form and fourth-up today, he looks ready to pounce. Last start, the Irish-sired gelding stepped-up to BM78 company and didn’t disgrace himself when he took home third prize in the 1550m event on Randwick’s Kensington track. While never a winning chance, he came from last on the turn and weaved his way through beaten traffic to arrive in time for the minor money. Dropping back in grade today, he welcomes back James McDonald for his second ride on the four-year-old and after three runs back, he should now be at his peak. A trouble-free run today should see him figure in the finish.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.9  DASHING LEGEND

Joe Pride saddles-up DASHING LEGEND here who is second-up and dropping back in grade today. Last start, the Snitzel mare came off an 18-week break and faced Group 3 competition on fresh legs where she finished down the track with Michael Dee aboard. Fitter for that run, she welcomes back Chad Schofield today who boasts a strong record with the mare, steering her to victory twice previously from his three rides. Her second-up record is exemplary, boasting two wins and as many minor placings from four appearances. She gets the gun-run from gate one today and should give them something to beat in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.7  NAILS MURPHY

Chris Waller and J.Mac team-up again in this event with NAILS MURPHY who resumes off a 21-week break and after two recent trials, looks ready to perform on fresh legs. Last start, the Sioux Nation sired gelding ended a two-start campaign by finishing fourth in a BM78 Hcp over 1500m at Rosehill. After that event, Ciaron Maher handed his training over to the Waller stable and today makes his debut for his new camp. Drawn nicely in gate five, he maps to settle just behind the speed and have first crack at the front runners on straightening. Four previous first-up appearances have all ended in podium finishes so it could pay to keep him safe in this contest.
