Oakbank Tips 30/03/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 2 BADONKIDONK – ($5)

South-East trainer Darryl Dodson brings BADONKIDONK to Oakbank Racecourse on Saturday for his first look around the track. The horse will be racing third-up from a spell which followed a successful long prep culminating in a Bordertown Cup win. Found them much too sharp when making some headway the fence first-up over 1400m at Morphettville. Always back and wide over 1800m second-up at Horsham before apprentice rider Emily Pozman brought Badonkidonk with his run out wide into the straight. Finished full of running in the high weight race last time and will be ready to show his best with regular rider Kayla Crowther back in the saddle.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 12 LOTZA BUBBLES – ($14)

Small team of two horses for the Phillip Stokes yard at Oakbank on the Easter Saturday meeting. The team have Celsius Star drawn the car park in the feature Listed Hills Railway Stakes before saddling up LOTZA BUBBLES who has drawn the paint in the last. That might not be a bad place to be as we’d expect most horses to leave that inside section alone throughout the day. LOTZA BUBBLES burnt a midweek field off to score as a runaway leader over this track and distance prior to going for a break. Resumed with a good effort to run third behind Miss Mucinni and Zufasta over the same when box-seating behind the speed. Lotza Bubbles races well at Oakbank and comes in third-up following a run at Morphettville before impressing in a recent trial here a fortnight ago.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3 No. 2 APACHE GUNSHIP – ($23)

Darryl Dodson is looking for a three-peat of wins with APACHE GUNSHIP who looked the part in winning his maiden at Strathalbyn. Alana Livesey asked her mount to move into the race while climbing the hill from their midfield position. Apache Gunship ranged up to subsequent winner Agressive Bee into the straight before putting them away over the 1100m. Settled outside the leader in a fast-run 1300m race at Swan Hill last start. Apprentice rider Ryan Houston was hard at work on Apache Gunship who perhaps hit a flat-spot on turning. The horse pinged the ears back to have a real crack into the straight and did come away from the others while approaching the finish.
