Barry Lockwood saddles-up EVOCATOR here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to respect him as a winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Divine Prophet gelding was fresh off a 12-week break when he came from well back to grab victory in a BM70 over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Tahlia Fenlon rode him a treat that day and sticks with him here, bringing a 3kg claim along with her for this assignment. Already a two-time winner when second-up, the five-year-old also revels in the wet so conditions here look ideal for him. A trouble-free run here should see him fighting out the finish.

Race 6:  No.10  DISPUTED RIVER

The Stuart Kendrick-trained DISPUTED RIVER hasn’t missed a beat since transferring north from the Mick Price camp and looks every chance making his presence felt in this contest. Last start, the American Pharoah gelding came off a hat-trick of wins when he finished a gallant third in a BM78 over 2400m at Eagle Farm. the extra distance and weight took its toll that day. He drops back 400m here and carries less weight as Jake Bayliss sticks with him, boasting three wins and two minor placings from his five rides to date. Already a track and distance winner here, he looks one of the better chances in this event.

Race 4:  No.4  BEEF WEEK PRINCESS 

The Daniel Bowen-trained BEEF WEEK PRINCESS has been on-the-boil in recent starts and looks set to continue that trend here at big odds. Last start, the Casino Prince mare rang-up her fifth-straight podium finish when she beat all but one home in a in a BM78 over 1600m at Eagle Farm. Trapped three-wide most of the way, Sam Collett remained cool and saved the mare’s best for the run home where she chased the leader all the way but arrived one stride too late and had to settle for the silver medal that day. She draws the outside gate here and will need some luck from there but she has the runs on the board and meeting similar company here, has to be a chance at odds.
