Race 1 No. 1 CADRE DU NOIR- ($1.70)
CADRE DU NOIR can make his mark in the opener. The Maher/Eustace galloper switches to the hurdles after some success on the flat in recent years and has had three trials in preparation for this, finishing top two in all of those. Stable have had plenty of success with their older horses kicking off their careers over the jumps and early market support, and form, say that the seven-year-old should be hard to beat.

Race 3 No 6 RISING RENOWN- ($7.10)
This shapes as an open betting affair and RISING RENOWN might be worth something at the price. He was close up in a couple of races in May and June, finishing a close runner-up at Hamilton before filling the exacta behind Cleaver at Warrnambool. At his last start he never really came on at that venue, finishing 4th behind Bedford but his form prior to that was good enough for this and the large claim for Campbell Rawiler is a boost to his chances.
