SILVER HAMMER can go close in Race 2 of the afternoon. The Cliff Brown-trained galloper has had the two career starts for two runner-up performances and resumed at Moe on October 20, finishing two lengths behind Capitalisation. That horse has since performed very well at the Flemington carnival behind the likes of Wiggum and Barber on Cup day. Silver Hammer will strip fitter at his second run back and Ben Allen just needs to find a spot from barrier 8. He strikes at 23% for the stable, providing a 42% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 8 No. 9 REGAL ZEUS- ($11)
Going with REGAL ZEUS in the final race of the day. The John McArdle-trained galloper resumed at Cranbourne on October 13 over the 1200m and settled handy but just lacked the dash at the business end, finishing 4th behind Jewel Bay. He showed promise at his initial preparation when scoring second up at Sale before a bit of a luckless run in a $150,000 race at Caulfield after that. The three-year-old should have improvement to come at his second run back and is worth thought at the price.
