ROCK MELODY can go close in Race 6. The four-year-old has had the two runs this time in and was runner-up behind Vegas Diva when resuming over the 1000m on May 19 before heading to the Pakenham Synthetic on May 29 and finishing half a length 5th behind Licorice Prince. She settled just worse than midfield in that race before producing the fastest last 200m to finish half a length away, The daughter of All Too Hard comes into this third up and at her only other run at this stage she was a winner.

Race 8 No 1 DIESEL N DUST- ($9.50)
Sticking with DIESEL N DUST in Race 8. The five-year-old loves the Synthetic and resumed with a win at Paknehm on June 2, overcoming trouble at the top of the straight to win by a length from All England. He looks to have come back in good order and has the speed to overcome the wide barrier, while he gets the big claim for Melissa Salter.

Race 9 No. 8 MERCIAN HYMN- ($9.10)
Not a bad Australian debut by MERCIAN HYMN at Pakenham on the Synthetic on June 2 and the imported galloper can just about go a couple of spots better at her second start since coming to the Maddie Raymond stable. His recent run came over the 1600m and he settled back in the field of nine before working home well for 3rd behind Beehunter, who has since placed in harder company at Flemington. The five-year-old should strip fitter at what will be her second run in just over nine months, while he draws to get the gun run from barrier 2.
