Pinjarra Scarpside Tips 13/12/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 9 AUTUMN REBEL – ($1.95)
There was a good speed up front when we backed AUTUMN REBEL who settled midfield the fence underneath Zipaway. While Clint Johnston-Porter struggled to build momentum aboard Autumn Rebel, William Pike was building upon the favourite Zipaway. Pike had built a full head of steam on turning to send Zipaway home while CJP was still searching for momentum aboard Autumn Rebel. We wrote Autumn Rebel into the black book after watching him get going late to finish in behind the placegetters. We got our money back with Autumn Rebel when he saluted at near even-money at his next start. Thought he was good again when watching him go around in the Guineas and now it’s time for us to make our profit with Autumn Rebel on Wednesday.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 1 STARRING KNIGHT – ($3.80)
Luke Campbell can give STARRING KNIGHT a gun-run from the perfect draw at Pinjarra Racecourse on Wednesday. The consistent galloper finally gets away from a couple of the real form horses in Amber Glide and Yonga Lass. He’s met with those smart mares at his past three runs and has more than held his own against them. Campbell brought Starring Knight with a withering run to score from midfield over 1300 metres at Northam the start before Daniel & Ben Pearce sent their horse to town. Should appreciate getting back to midweek grade and Starring Knight is also a proven weight carrier.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 7 VILLAGE GIRL – ($11)
We’ll be hoping for a touch of luck in the last at Pinjarra Racecourse on Wednesday for VILLAGE GIRL. Lucy Fiore has the task of negotiating an inside gate with plenty of pressure up front. Fiore gave her a beautiful run just in behind the speed when Village Girl raced first-up over 1000 metres at Bunbury. Sky Duke gave a strong kick into the straight after rolling along at a good tempo to score. Village Girl held her own to the line as she filled a minor placing. She has a good second-up record and does tend to race well here. Think the 1200 metres suits her better than a frantic 1000 metre dash suspect there may be a few tired horses wobbling about in front of her inside the furlong.
