BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 5 TUFF OPERATOR – ($2.25)

Ryan Hurdle ridesTUFF OPERATOR who will be the popular elect amongst punters following two good runs since resuming. Tuff Operator found himself a long way back first-up over 1200 metres in the race won by Gulingi. Hurdle kept him clear off the inside, though Tuff Operator showed no ill-effects from any kickback. The pair circled the field as the winner had kicked to finish best of the rest. Tuff Operator took some riding from Hurdle when racing second-up over 1396 metres. Lady Tucan had controlled the race from out in front to score by a narrow margin. It was Tuff Operator who was closing off to just miss with Keep Swinging poking up between them. Fitter, and the extra trip looks ideal.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 9 MAID IN MILAN – (6.30)

Garret Lynch has MAID IN MILAN fitter for a few runs back this prep. She has been racing in higher grade where she has twice been beaten by Sahara Song. Sairyn Fawke found the run along the fence behind the speed in both of those and just couldn’t peg back the classier horses. Given little chance here two runs back when the rider tried to come back from an outside gate of the small field. They walked up front with Maid In Milan far from disgraced when beaten less than three lengths to Sandsation. Ran well again, though probably peaked on her run late when holding on for third behind Canidae on a heavy track at Bordertown. Maid In Milan looks well placed off an inside draw over 1200 metres and while coming back in grade.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2 No. 8 ZIGGING AROUND – ($8.50)

Local trainer Allan Jarvis sends ZIGGING AROUND second-up at Port Augusta Racecourse on Sunday. His mare has run some handy races in her short career to date. She was a little slowly away when resuming her last start. Justin Potter hunted the rails before peeling off rounding the turn in what was a smooth ride. Zigging Around knuckled down to task late to pull ground off the winner Fun Of The Fair. The pair have drawn wide on Sunday, though should appreciate the good pressure going up front.
