BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 6 TANE TOA – ($3.50)

Rochelle Milnes did well to stay in the saddle on TANE TOA who was travelling as a winner prior to straightening here two runs back. Her horse just shifted out slightly as the outside runner seemed to lay-in, causing Tane Toa to stumble and change stride. Milnes regained her stirrup only to watch one sail past them with momentum. Settled a lot further back in a fast run maiden here last time. Milnes had Tane Toa chasing the city-bound winner I’m A Dexter with those two horses putting a good gap back to the rest. Tane Toa can settle more forward again in what looks to only be a moderate maiden.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 2 MIDNIGHT BRAWLER – ($4.20)

Change of rider for MIDNIGHT BRAWLER with Anna out for the Kimba Cup Day. These two ride similar in a lot of ways so Callan Murray would seem a good choice from Julie Branford & Hayley Dorward. The training duo are attempting to claim one of their home-town feature races following a big run in the Cup. Midnight Brawler had won the two main lead-up races under Jordjso before seeing his Cup chances dashed at the barrier draw. Jumping from gate 14 meant that Midnight Brawler had to cede the front-running to Splash Some Cash through the early stages. Finally found a furlong in which to drop his head and relax before the leader ramped them up again. Midnight Brawler only really just gets this trip at best, so needs things to fall his way. Has drawn to find the front under Murray who can have Midnight Brawler into comfortable rhythm and control the race to their liking.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 4 WATERHEAD – ($7.50)

We saw a gutsy win here last start from WATERHEAD who drew the car park in a big field. Jumped sharply for Sheriden Tomlinson who was happy to just keep his mare balanced and comfortable on top of the good speed. They ran along and it appeared that Express Master was the horse travelling better as he raced inside to give Waterhead a check on turning. Express Master gave a kick into the straight with Tomlinson giving his mare room and time to balance up. He sent Waterhead out after the new leader who was stopping, while also having to deal with subsequent provincial winner Strip Club diving between them. Waterhead kept finding to deny the others, and we don’t mind that she’s drawn outside of runners once again.
