Race 5 No. 1 GOODARCHIE – ($3.30)

Wily horse trainer/trader Roslyn Day knew what she was doing when sending GOODARCHIE to race in Port Lincoln. Kayla Crowther let the big gelding find his feet around horses early over the 1210 metres here. She kept him balanced on turning before producing Goodarchie with a winning run into the straight. Snapped-up by local trainer Simon Drewitt to continue racing with the original interests, Goodarchie produced the goods again as we backed him at nice odds last start. Looks to have settled into Port Lincoln and Kayla Crowther can guide him home once more.

Race 4 No. 3 FORAOISE – ($3.60)

Winning machine FORAOISE made it two wins in a row as Alana Livesey continued her own winning form at the track. Livesey never panicked when trapped three wide in the early stages from an outside alley. She just asked her horse to come back in search of a position outside the stablemate Vancouver Velvet who was enjoying the pace being on up front. Livesey took off on a wide run with Foraoise, straightening as the widest runner of the big field. Foraoise never looked like being beaten as he won running away towards the finish. Stays close to the minimum with the claim while drawn for an economical run in transit.

Race 8 No. 9 PERFECT ZED – ($9.50)

PERFECT ZED caught the eye during a recent barrier trial as Ryan Dawson readied her for race day. Senior rider Eran Boyd took the reins as Perfect Zed showed her customary speed to put herself into the firing line of a handy BM58 field. Effortkat had swooped on them from the back as Perfect Zed couldn’t quite pick up the early leader in Waterhead. Boyd restrained her mare off the hot tempo second-up with Perfect Zed over racing initially. She did settle down and managed to hit the line strongly from out in the middle of the track. There’s plenty of pace engaged again as Perfect Zed has drawn to receive the plumb run early.
